Creating an Auto-Email for yourself as an agent

The Auto-Email system in Matrix was designed primarily for the use of your clients.  However, it can be useful as an agent to receive updates for listing searches that are just for you, as an agent.  When creating an Auto-Email for yourself, you need to separate the "agent" version of you from the "client" version of you to make sure that Matrix will deliver the updates you are looking for.

The easiest way to do this is to set yourself up as a contact using an email address that is different from the one on your agent profile:

Create your search, save it as an Auto-Email, and assign it to the contact you created for yourself with this alternate email address.  Make sure to check the box to "BCC me a copy of all emails" when setting up the Auto-Email to make sure you will get a link to view any updated listings in Matrix itself.  This BCC email will be sent to the email address on your agent profile.

If this is the first Auto-Email you have created for yourself, it will only be partially active at this point.  Usually about five to ten minutes after you have saved the Auto-Email, you will receive a "Welcome" message for the search at the email address you saved in the contact information.  You must click the "View Properties" button in this message for the search to become fully active and begin to deliver updates.

If you create additional Auto-Emails for yourself after this, the new searches will automatically become active when you save them, you will not need to check your email.
