New in Matrix! Expanded USDA overlay mapping, Garage SqFt and Other Parking
In the next few days, we will be expanding the USDA overlay map in Matrix, and it will cover the whole country! Previously, the USDA overlay showed eligible areas in a darker color. When the new mapping is implemented, the ineligible areas will be shown in the darker color because there are fewer ineligible areas than there are eligible areas. Reversing the overlay colors improves system performance.
We have also updated the “Reporting Square Footage in CarolinaMLS” article. Unheated basement square footage only needs to be reported in MLS listings if it contributes to the value of the dwelling. Also, going forward, garage square footage should not be reported in the Unheated SqFt or Additional SqFt fields. Instead, it should be reported in the new Garage SqFt field, which can either be attached, detached, above-grade or below-grade. The new Garage SqFt field was added to comply with the statement in the NCREC Residential Square Footage Guidelines that states, “Decks, balconies, porches, garages and carports should not be included in any category of finished or unfinished area.”
We also added a free-form text field called “Other Parking” to describe the parking space location, i.e., “Unit #306, parking space location: 3rd floor, general parking.”
We hope you enjoy these new features! Thank you to our members who took the time to suggest these improvements to the MLS system. For more information, or if you’d like to suggest a change or addition, please email [email protected].
