We want to alert our community to recent reports regarding an individual who is allegedly attending home showings with the intent to steal prescription medications. This person has targeted multiple properties and consistently uses the same tactic: claiming to have a stomach issue and urgently requesting to use the seller’s bathroom.
Once given access, the individual is believed to rummage through drawers and cabinets in search of drugs.

To help prevent further incidents, we strongly advise the following precautions:

• Do not allow any individuals to use the bathroom inside a property during a showing.
• Offer access to a public restroom before arriving at the home if the request is made.
• Remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior immediately to local authorities and your broker.
