In May, we converted the “Tax Location” field to “City Taxes Paid To,” and replaced county name options with “No City Taxes Paid.” Listing agents should ensure the data is accurate in the “City Taxes Paid To” field by choosing the city to which property taxes are paid. Only select “No City Taxes Paid” when the listed property is not subject to any city taxes. The best way to determine if the property is subject to city taxes is to check the most recent tax bill available from the owner or county tax/GIS website. Erroneous data in the “City Taxes Paid To” field is a Category I violation of the Canopy MLS Rules and Regulations. If you spot an error, try notifying the listing agent first. If necessary, report the error to Canopy MLS by clicking the “Report Data Error” () icon on the listing. The first inaccurate data violation is treated as a warning. A second violation carries a $100 fine, and fines increase for repeat violations.
