On Tuesday, July 27, Canopy MLS will begin using “primary” in the place of “master” in display names for bedrooms. The underlying standardized field names are not changing to preserve consistency in delivery of real estate data.  
 
The display-name change, adopted by the Canopy MLS Board of Directors in April, mirrors a shift by many MLS systems across the country to terminology without racial or gender undertones. Canopy MLS subscribers had expressed concerns to MLS administrators about the “master” term.
