Realtors® have an obligation to make sure the doors and windows to listed property are secured and the house keys placed back into the lockbox after a showing.

Avoid having to answer to a complaint filed against you for forgetting this important task.

Section 2H of the Canopy MLS Rules and Regulations states, “Keyholders must use extreme care to ensure that all doors to the listed property and the Lockbox are locked.”

A violation of this rule is a Category III violation and carries an immediate $500 fine for a first violation.
