There have been a handful of potential violations of the Clear Cooperation Policy where there was no signed listing agreement.

Real estate regulations in North and South Carolina require real estate brokers and licensees to first enter into a written agency agreement with the owner before marketing the property.

In addition, the Realtor® Code of Ethics requires agreements to be in writing and says Realtors® shall not offer for sale/lease or advertise property without authority.

In the future such matters will be referred to the Canopy Realtor® Association’s Grievance Committee for consideration.
