Adding Fields to Your Results

You may add your own fields/columns to the single line display. For example, the Single Line display may have everything you need except DOM (Days on Market). To add the DOM field/column to the Results page of a search follow these steps:

  1. Hover your mouse near an existing column/field and you will see your mouse cursor change to a four prong arrow (make sure not to place your cursor directly over the column title).
  2. Left-Click once and a menu will appear
  3. On the Menu click "Insert Column".
  4. Scroll or search for the field/column name to use and click to select it
  5. Click Apply.

There are other customizations you can make here as well:

  • After opening the column editor box as in the steps above, the column title becomes a text box.  You can change the title of a column (for instance, renaming "Postal Code" to "Zip Code", or "Days on Market" to "DOM").
  • You can click "Remove Column" to take the selected column off of your Results display.
  • You can set the Alignment for the column to have your preferred display.
  • Select "Wrap Line" for longer fields, such as features lists or remarks, to have the entire contents of the field display over multiple lines.

Saving and Defaulting your customized Search:

To save this display, click the Manage Displays button (the "paper and pencil icon") above the column headers toward the top right side, then enter a name for your display and click "Save as a Copy"

To make this saved display your default click the Set/Clear Defaults button (the "gear" icon) above the column headers toward the top right side, and click "Set current display, sort order and count per page as my Search starting default".  Each search run after this will automatically use your selected custom display.

Once a custom display has been saved, it will also appear as an option when using the "Export" tool to download listing data from the MLS.

If you would like to create a custom display without running a search first, You can do so by clicking your name at the top right of Matrix, then select "Settings", then "Custom Displays" - Learn how here
